General meetings occur on the first Tuesday of each month at 1900 HRS.
Executive meetings occur on the last Tuesday of every month at 1800 HRS.
Legion Rider meetings occur on the second Saturday of the month at 1000 HRS.

The American Legion is the oldest Veterans service organization in the
world. It has over 2,000,000 members. It was started in 1919 to insure the
veterans returning from WWl received the benefits and medical care they
needed.

Post 1 in Reno was chartered in August 1919, being the first Post in Nevada.
We have continuously served the veterans and youth of Nevada for 100 years.
Currently we support youth by sponsoring Scout troop 1, awarding medals to
outstanding students in the junior ROTC programs in area high schools,
sponsoring high school juniors in the American legion boys state and girls
state program. We assist area veterans by helping them process claims for
benefits from the VA, assisting families with short term financial aid and
support the Veterans Administration homeless veterans program.
